Grosmont Train Station
I arranged to go to Whitby after I locked up the gallery today with an other trader from Thirsk. Sharon is closed Wednesday all day and I asked her what her plans were for the day... It turns out she was just going to be chilling out before I picked her up. So it was an on the spot decision to go earlier rather than later. I put up the closed sign and we headed out shortly after midday. A gentle stroll around and I can not believe how many black jet jewellery shops there is and only one art gallery and one photographic gallery! Mid afternoon we popped into a fish n' chip restaurant as one does whilst in Whitby. A lovely battered cod fillet with piping HOT chips! After our meal another stroll to walk off the calories and we ended up in a yarn and haberdashery store (Sharon owns a wool shop in Thirsk) and I end up buying a Marble Chunky Yarn!! I feel another scarf coming on ;-) You can't go to Whitby and not climb the steps to the top - done with great success!! We took back roads home and Grosmont was a place I drove through - well I had to stop.... A bit of vintage treatment to create the ambience of yesteryears.
